Mark Salvatus

b. 1980, Lucban, Philippines. Lives and works in Manila, Philippines.

Calling his overall artistic practice as Salvage Projects, based on the word salvage – “save” or “rescue” which is also the meaning of his surname, Mark deals with the debris of everyday politics living in the city, a blurred history of the nation and its complicated narratives and the constant movements that he is confronting. His works developed into an ever-changing forms and expressions that can be social, personal, political, historical and also comical.
