Alexander Glandien

b. 1982, Schwerin, Germany. Lives and works in Vienna.

In his work, which spans a broad array of media, Alexander Glandien explores the relationship between ideology and identity. Growing up in the post-socialist era of former East Germany, he became attentive to systems of appropriation, interpretation, and manipulation of history and immersed himself in the ongoing construction and transformation of personal and collective identities.
