ΜΕ, YOU, MY MOTHER, OUR FRIEND, US. STORIES OF ELEVEN HOMELESS PEOPLE.
I define homeless people through their lack of home which leads to three categories: people who live on the streets, those who reside in insufficient and unappropriated accommodations, as well as those who are deprived of permanent homes and are temporarily accommodated by dormitories, guest houses and their closest people/circle.
In this project, each one of them narrates his/her story in relation to their dreams, their current living conditions, their remote homes as well as their lost families.
I aim to / intend to record the totality of interpretations and values that these people have as their viewpoint, esthetics and their sentimental experience. I am interested in deconstructing the view of the homeless as an alcoholic, drug addict and criminal/outlaw. What is attempted is the recognition of their value and dignity by the Greek society. Homeless or not, workers or unemployed, women or men, locals or immigrants, these people are us. Common faces in familiar places.
Malick, Eleni, Matubar, Veronika, Miltos, Maria, Nikos, Vaggelis, Marie, Viktorin and Eleni thank you so much. I will never forget you. I will see you. I will remember you.
